Anti- Political Dynasty Act

My opinion about the 'Anti-Political Dynasty Act' would be, it is not needed. I am not in favor of any political clan, to clarify, but I agree with VP Binay’s comment in an interview that if the sovereign authority still trusts the seated public official or any member of his family – the people will elect them and if NOT anymore trusted NO ONE can influence their choice whether it is the incumbent's bloodline or anything else.

Let us be open-minded, it is a fact that Politics runs in the blood for many cases. There is a scientific explanation to this; the offspring imitates the behavior or even get fond of the things the parents do being most of the times around with the parents and seeing what they do. In their young minds, although not all children of a politician wanted to try the not-so-clean politics in the country, they wanted to be like the patriarch in the future. Learning is a process and we best learn from application rather than theories like what politicians-wannabe could have learned from taking-up Political Science from a University. The University of Life has it all and being a close family of a politician, it is not impossible that another politician may emerge from that clan.

What I Like about Japanese People

History told us that Japanese soldiers during the first World War were not that “kind” to us Filipinos, but I hope we can move on to the next chapter of History that we have to create for the future generation. It is not of course impossible for things to change and mostly when it comes to people having “intellectual capacity” to perceive things differently and even change for the better.

I have these countless misconception about Japanese People. The moment I hear a Japan Citizen – what comes to my mind is the fearful(?) ‘Yaku-- Organization and Japan's  ultra-famous sharp-edged Samurai.  I felt like running seeing a sight of Nihonjin  around. It so happened that I have met two Japan Citizens who had changed my perception on them.

I formerly worked in a Japanese Heavy Equipment Trading Firm. The Company’s President, Mr. Nakajima is of pure-Japanese blood – his partner Mr. Sasaki (former owner of Multinational Village) too have not just became my big bosses but also friends as well as their wives and children – having Filipina spouses.

Although I can not speak Nihonggo, I have just learned a few – our communication medium is the English Language.  Here are the things I found out that I really like about them:

-Japanese people are minimalist, very simple. They prefer function over design. They are very practical people. Visiting their residence when the family has special occasions, I have seen that they have a table for the purpose of a place to put their plates and glasses while eating. They are not the type that splurges on very expensive antique or famous designer-brand furniture and fixtures. Take note, they can afford it but still…

Renaming a Computer-generated File

Every  computer file has its name and its extension:

mypicture.jpg

If the file is an image, the usual format is jpeg and the extension name is .jpg

"mypicture" is the FILE NAME.

The file can not display the image unless the right extension is written or copied again after renaming the file; same is true with movie files. Renaming a videoke file I have downloaded, the file plays successfully after downloading after I have renamed it there comes the problem, it would not open again the way it has played before.

Hope for the Refugees - An Open Letter

I am appealing to Queen Elizabeth of France, Prince William, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, Mr. Bill Gates, Mr. Donald Trump, Michael Jordan, Mr. Manny Pacquiao , Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Mr. Tiger Woods, Ms. Martha Stewart, Mr. Henry Sy, Mr. Gokungwei of Robinsons, the Signature Brands - Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, De Beers, Toyota, BMW, Porsche, Revlon, and all other people millionaires/billionaires to please let us join hands in helping the refugees. Do not look at me, I may not be somebody. It is not me who is important here but this important message I wanted to tell you. It is time to give back. Here is the chance to show the world WHO you are. Riches are for the living and what happens when your life shall fade tomorrow? I am just suggesting I am not asking or collecting donations, to clarify. Have you done something worth remembering? Will you leave a legacy for the next generations to celebrate and love?

Money can make things better, and that is what all those persons and companies have to solve the issue. A maybe forgotten hectares of land somewhere can be bought and transformed into a safe haven for the refugees, plus factories or workplace to employ them and sustain the lives of those unfortunate people. Because a place to live is not enough for their survival unless living is sustainable.

I know some of you have extended help to others in some way like providing food or scholarships etc. , but this time refugees are begging for their lives to be spared. We do not hold the ‘trigger’ that might kill them but in our hands HOPE exists. I wanted to take part in reaching-out to the refugees, I want to give them this strand of hope I am holding in my hand – that this little blog will reach the authorities and the concerned to help them LIVE. It may sound like a drama but this is really what I feel at this moment and I would never want to waste this chance, any precious minute to do what I could possibly can to support their struggle for life.

The refugees are humans but today they were treated like stray animals being refused to be owned.  I hope that the European Union can make a program like “Adopt a Refugee” wherein “able” people can act like a foster family to those helpless people thru EU’s arbitration and surety that they will not be abused nor slaved. And that “they will not just be given fish but the way to catch their own..” work to sustain their living. I was deeply saddened to the News at Al Jazeera with a heading “No space for dead refugees…”

Thoughts on Disaster Preparedness

Various man-made disaster (fire etc.) or even natural calamities (flood, earthquake etc.) if not be totally avoided can yield lesser casualty when everyone is vigilant. There is nothing more relaxing than being prepared at all cost, whatever happens.

I have heard a message of a man criticizing the reminders from PhilVolcs about the possibility of having an intensity seven (7) earthquake in West Valley Fault territories dominantly encompassing Metro Manila area. It is not really who is that man who has accused that Philvolcs Director Solidum is acting like a false prophet – predicting what could happen in the future as he meant.  I am not favoring the fact that Solidum is a prophet indeed because he is not and he does not pretended to be, in fact he did not even prophesy a date. He is just speaking in behalf of history, what has happened in the past and observing the movement of the tectonic plates that led him to notice the interval of its movement that occurred at a particular interval of years with a little margin of difference. And due to the fact, he has predicted a prospect of earthquake occurrence anytime. I am not paid by Mr. Solidum nor anyone from Philvolcs advocating their side BUT just being thankful that he (representing his agency) has reminded us to be prepared IN CASE tremors will surface. The warning respected than critiqued by many has led concerned government agencies up to Barangay levels and had taken seriously to have pushed them to provide awareness and sponsor quake drills to their respective constituents. The Church where I belong also unite with the government on this call; in fact the Central Office has already taken a drill as seen on Net25 reports. Earthquake Safety Awareness campaign is but crucial in saving potential victims (injured or maybe even dead at the worst!). MMDA is also doing their share and ready to provide FREE awareness seminar/drill to schools, Barangays who will want to invite them as a resource speaker. There is more apart from going under the table or running in an open space in case an earthquake occurs.  Additional are some family-related measures to ensure the safety and reach of each member during the calamity.

The Simple Beauty of Bougainvillea Flower

Everywhere I go, I see different-colored Bougainvilleas -white, baby pink, fuschia pink, light orange what else am I forgetting? And there are these local variety having smaller and flat-curved petals while the imported ones has this bigger and pointed flower petals. There is also these varieties that have few petals and the other has lots of.

I love the houses with garden surrounded by them. These flowers' vine are sometimes arched on gate and also decorated the fences of some huts and bungalows I see around. How lovely! I seldom see one without a flower. And they can be planted and let the nature nurture them. They are still that nice but maybe even better if cared for personally.

'Felix Manalo' Movie - NOW SHOWING

Lopez, Quezon is around three-four hours drive away from SM Lucena (Quezon West). I have never been so excited celebrating my birthday (October 8) today in an advance celebration. I regard this as a gift of God to me, the coincident showing of the BioPic of the Church of Christ’s considered to be “God’s Messenger in these last days” (Iglesia ni Cristo)Felix Manalo.

I am proud to say that I am among those many people who had watched the movie on its first showing day apart from the Guiness Book of Record-breaking Premier night in the Philippine Arena last October 4 (more than 46,000+ came erasing Guiness’ latest record-breaker of 10,000 attendees on a Premier Night).

Quote about LOVE

I found this quote and thought of sharing this to you...I think this is true. Those who are in a relationship especially men (maybe not all of them but most) tend to look far to find what his partner does not have to fill what is missing to have a perfect love but doing such is not making it perfect at all when we can CREATE an almost perfect one because the word "perfect" only exist in the dictionary.
