Platapormang Nais Ko Bilang Pilipino

(Tagalog/English in BOLD letters)

I. Mga Hanapbuhay at Oportunidad:
Employment and Business Opportunities

I hope that the Philippine Government shall be instrumental in educating our countrymen with additional and state-of-the-art knowledge in agriculture and business for FREE aside from having the existing TESDA that Filipinos can only avail of when paid. That FREE trainings could have channeled through Local Gov’t. Units (LGU’s) down to barangay level to reach every Pinoy.

Water Lily industry that has been developed by the Villar family in their district (Las Piñas) is one of a possible income alternative. They have made various products out of it. That innovative thinking attempting to maximize AVAILABLE resources is one good example of leadership ability that I hope be the attitude of our future leaders after these 2016 elections. Not just that, it opened employment opportunities too.

The use of corn How Stuff Works: Corn Plastics in making canisters and other plastic products as I have seen in ‘How Stuff Works’ could have been another source of income and at the same time preserving our environment – sustainable development becomes possible, it is just one of the many options.  A useful product that will also be an employment source and income for the farmers while SAVING OUR ENVIRONMENT.

II.
Availability of Potable Water

Even if this happens, many water-refilling businesses will be affected BUT more people (rather than FEW) would benefit from it. Our country is physically surrounded with bodies of water – in my own opinion we only need a system – machineries for filtering and experts to supervise it. Whew! In other countries as I see when I am watching ‘cooking shows’ they get cooking water DIRECT from the faucet. That is how accessible water is for them, the irony is that we have more accessible resources compared to them but we buy expensive drinking water.

III. Murang Elektrisidad
Low-cost Electricity

I hope again to utilize our available resources in extracting energy/power like hydroelectric, geothermal or solar power plant so that we will pay half the cost of electricity we are paying today.

IV.
      Recycling our Ballooning Garbage Problem

Dilemmas on the environment and health are brought about by piled-up garbage. Why can we not give attention to what others have already done - converting wastes into fuel  etcetera to turn these garbage into gold’?

Plastics are melted to make other materials like PVC pipes etc. so our Government can use them for government projects to cut on materials costs.

IV. Serbisyong Medikal
Medical Services Subsidized by the Gov't.

I remember the documentary I have watched about these terminally-sick (of cancer) OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers), although they are really burdened doing their jobs as domestic helper – they refuse to go back home in our country – it is because they are getting FREE MEDICATIONS in hospitals there in Hongkong (?) or Singapore (?), I forgot – as long as their job contract is not yet expired. Meaning, ‘the end of their contract is also the END OF THEIR LIVES’ because going home is NEVER an option knowing that they can not afford medications here and the government does not have any programs for them, correct me if I am wrong. They could not pay for expensive chemotherapy – most of the OFWs had their conditions surfaced while working abroad not before they left the country. I am very THANKFUL to those wonderful, kind-hearted foreign bosses they have for keeping them despite of their health conditions – they are not just giving them bread to eat but HOPE to LIVE longer…for their family (usually children) they left back home.

I wish that the government can truly ‘take care’ of sick Filipinos. In Makati, medical operations such as cataract surgery is FREE, this is from a friend’s REAL story (Vice President is not joking when he brags of this achievement – and for me that is commendable). That is why even non-Makati residents wishes to have ‘yellow card’ (that is a health card) from them. Even the expensive check-ups are free. That is why the political leaders in Makati are shot to their strength because they have impeccable performance – a wise opponent knows that the weakness of another can be his strength – and if that performance made them loved by people, that performance can be traced for holes in it. If that can be targeted they know for sure that it is the BEST strategy to defeat them politically. I am not endorsing the Binays and I just admire their projects and works in Makati.

Side Story 1:

Even the City Hall’s appearance did not evade the scrutiny – for me it is natural and a MUST for Makati to have a hotel-like city hall premise because it is the country’s central business district where multinational companies are mostly located – the office where the city mayor sits MUST really be presentable – we have to accept that it has something to do with how people assess you or your organization – I doubt if big bosses or foreigners from big companies will wish to transact business in a humid, hospital like office with the mayor. The office gives the mayor added confidence to face every guest because the place speaks for his competence how he managed to put-up such a good office for the city. It gives us, Filipinos, something to be proud of –some air of pride. And when we speak of Makati – people have high regards for it.

V. FREE internet nationwide?

Not that I envy our foreign counterparts that they do not have to pay telecom companies to join the advancement on technology, how can we abreast with the world’s progress –  lifestyle evolution in modern times if only a FEW can AFFORD this internet technology and not all places nationwide have access.

Aside from transportation, communication plays a vital role in Development. Not only the roads (where goods and farm products pass) have to be fixed, we have to prioritize our ability to communicate because we can only use the roads when deals are made.

Among the cheapest ways to interact is via the internet. Capitalists can also send a facsimile, make real time video calls and do business more clearly with the use of video and actual photos of the products and services thru internet. This is a MUST if we plan to penetrate exportation – remember, we are already a member of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and APEC ( Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), I hope that cyber-development could go in PAIR of those for a reliable outcome. Business and job opportunities are prevalent online. BUT if this progress could ensue, I also hope that we can concurrently protect the security of our nation and the inhabitants as well, in formulating bills /law that have something to do with the use and limitations of it – companies, individuals and to abolish bad elements lurking and using the internet.

Again, I hope that our government can realize an extensive cyber-development that can be FREELY accessible to every Filipino. We do have bigger budget this time because of the enhanced tax collections, kudos to Comm. Henares. I do not want to be pessimistic that telecom giants can zero-out this idea knowing they would earn less or nothing at all.

VI. Makapaghalal sa May Kakayahan at Karapat-dapat Mamuno:
      Election of Qualified Leaders

Our dream of progress can only happen with the help of a proficient, down-to-earth and God-fearing leaders. Sometimes, proficiency CAN BE based on experience and accomplishments. Humility, is the way a leader approaches his constituents – hears them and take opinions for consideration to help attain a big change. We, the citizens should have always been the leaders’ gauge in determining what is good for us. God-fearing leaders – will stay away from stealing, killing and injustice.

Our ability to elect GOOD officials is hindered by election fraud. If you are paid to vote a candidate, get the money and stick to your old plans even if it does not include the briber on your list. The possibility of fraud lies in the COUNTING itself (Filipinos are becoming wiser these days)– the voting system is high-tech, I do hope that cheating is NOT also on that same level.

Side Story II (Political Analysis and Observation):

A black propaganda like what is happening today with our politics (pulling down one another by exposing ‘anomalies?!’ ) has happened in our province in Nueva Ecija many years ago. The very kind governor is accused of a crime and is put on trial by publicity in a  tv station. His reputation (throughout the country) is not regained anymore. Not all we see on the news speak of TRUTH, those who have not met the governor personally (is just watching the news) and is not a Novo Ecijano may be fooled but us (constituents) who are lead by that poor man firmly believed of his innocence.

News, after it was aired on National TV – can make HUGE damage, and media is not admitting mistakes later on if there is – it boils down to responsible journalism. Not editing videos to blame somebody else for an accusation. Hearing BOTH sides of the story not clinging on one side because the other contradicts the reporter’s belief or conviction or he can gain material benefit.  You can not be a responsible journalist/reporter if you REFUSE to let go of your own opinion when hearing both sides and studying circumstantial evidences because you need not go out to find a news item – you already have on your own. That is why I salute channels 5 and 7 for being professional and unbiased in reporting – not just finding a scoop that is a sure HIT without analyzing and weighing the circumstances. Both stations and their journalists are recognized for their fair reports – they received awards from PRESTIGIOUS organizations like Reader’s Digest Asia (for Ms. Jessica Soho’s impartiality and responsible journalism) etc.

There are accusations, documents ‘as it appears’ to prove(?!) today’s political candidate’s  deficiency  BUT we all know that documents can be forged and falsified – that is how Recto is known for…let us not be random in judgment. Not all who ‘looks good’ is really good…and not all who are accused are already criminals – but let us not set aside that some has a tinge of truth but not all in the news.

If you are to choose, will you go for those talkative politicians but has not shown any accomplishment at all that we are not sure if has not really embezzle funds from our national coffers (they only knew it for themselves)? The question to ponder on is where and to whom can we benefit more?

There are candidates today that are really kind-hearted BUT the success in governance sometimes lies in the experience of the leader – lessens the ‘trial and error stage’.  Being a dummy is NOT a consideration and does not need a lot of advisers if he really knows what he is doing. Listening to experts’ advise is welcome but not necessarily deciding from it.

We have to open our eyes on what we see and feel. But I have to tell you I can not forget Gov. Edno Joson – because until now I cann say that he is the only politician that was literally mobbed without the security aides. When you enter his office, you can not find the needle you dropped because it is filled of farmers and other citizens waiting to tell him their stories and requests. He is among the people standing inside the room that looks like an over-loaded elevator. He is so humble and close to the people – he dressed simply, speaks softly and ever pretends to smile all the time nor waves his hands like how the late President Ramon Magsaysay has been closed to people.  Compared to the assassinated mayor (running for governor too that time), you have to passed the secretary and be asked first inside if you are welcome to come in and was escorted by tons of bodyguards- you really can not touch the tip of his finger unlike the governor that never shows he is not our level. I was then one of the many college scholars of the Provincial Government being deprived of the valedictorian title – not having a free tuition in college. I was among his grantees of the allowance – we have not personally met but I know he helped me and other students regardless of their academic average as long as they have the urge to finish college. A lot of people protested and made noise hoping to be heard on their cry for the freedom of the governor, they surrounded the Provincial capitol never wanted to give him to the authorities. Many literally cried for the little, thin but kind-hearted man being arrested for a ‘crime?’.

Election period that time, if you are to kill your rival – you will be the primary suspect. The governor need not do that because if you are to visit our Provincial Capitol the photos of the past governors are displayed on its walls – all from his clan. Since the old days, people trust them and elected them. Very FEW know that someone who will really benefit from it must have orchestrated everything. Dreaming that the sympathy vote that was earned by former President Corazon Aquino could happen. I had to stop there. Because of that, the former governor became an inspiration to me – not to randomly take what is fed on the news. There is always the benefit of the doubt to consider especially if the news is empty – not packed with CLEAN and VERIFIABLE evidences plus reliable witnesses.

VII. Kapayapaan at Katahimikan
        Peace and Order

I also believe that peace and order does not necessarily lie on the shoulder of the incoming President of the country. It still lies on the law-makers to establish fearful laws for the criminals and for the policemen and armed, naval forces (and other security personnel) – and the collaboration with the citizens.

The policemen should not always be in their station (just a few of them to receive complaints and responders etc.) because they can be notified by the station if a reported incident happened within the area of their responsibility – if the men are posted on strategic locations throughout the country. There must be police outposts at a particular distance. But I think we still NEED to recruit MORE POLICEMEN to realize this. Before they could have been called for help they are already in the vicinity. There are just a few minutes to respond.

We should have accepted gifts of mobile cars and stuff from the US – they just wanted us to be their friends, they wanted to help too and that is just loose coins from their budget.  We do not have to think always of reasons why foreigners are kind to us. That is charity and friendship.  Other government officials never wanted to accept it. Others commented that because there is no need to purchase meaning no money to put in their own pockets…
