Why Buying in Malls is also Being Practical?

There is always a connotation that buying in malls is never practical…here  are several reasons why  I doubt it.

Promo Offers

When malls  have” SALE”,  they mark-down their merchandise almost half the price - the quality is still there, sometimes the reason is just inventory related (no sizes in clothes, last pair in shoes) or end-of-season.  Although most of the cases the discount ranges from 10-25 % off, better  take this opportunity when there is a NEED to buy that something that is a bit pricey undiscounted. True that you can bargain prices with the sellers in the market but it will never be as big as what is offered in malls. My tip, buy off-season items (IF you have extra) and just keep it till that same season comes around, you will notice you bought it almost half the price by then!

Malls also have their “Buy one, take one” promos, I got most of my curtains this way – the elegance of the “ring” element is just so appealing to me. What I notice is that, most of the curtains sold this way is that they are in bulk, that maybe means customers never find the color or plain design being  a good buy.  How you can take advantage of that? The solution for dull-looking draperies  is combining – try pairing light and dark color or one color each for a four-panel window see how it perks-up the wall.  This also gives you freedom to buy on your budget. Buy only a set of the promo if your budget allows you just one for extra expenses, then come back some time for the other colors.

Customer Raffles

Malls give back to their customers by having “raffle” promos every occasion – that is not gambling because you did not buy the ticket, it was just given to you as a “token of appreciation”  for patronizing them – it is just that they can not give all the customers a wonderful gift that would be memorable and exciting – they just have to pick a limited number of patrons to balance their marketing and promotional expense.  I personally knew someone who had won a laptop from a raffle promo in SM Mall, DasmariƱas-Cavite and that proves it is worth trying.

Safety & Comfort

Another consideration is - safer to fit when buying clothes, there is someone to assist you and the guards are in all the entry points to inspect all the visitors coming in.

Car park is guarded.  Safer parking lot for your Lamborghini, BMW, Bentley ,Mercedes Benz or your vintage Rolls Royce.

Malls have safer and well-maintained Comfort Rooms, where there are also vending machines of sanitary napkin, tissue paper etc.  inside for your convenience .  I also see “diaper changing tables” suspended on the walls and a separate CR for disabled people.

What Keeps Us United in Faith

Being a member of the Church of Christ, I am among the self-sworn followers of the Church Administration.  I have faith that they are always guided by the Holy Spirit – that is why the Church is continuously growing and victorious in all its undertakings. Non-members are confused that despite some controversies in all media, the Church and its members seemed unmoved. The “101st Anniversary” and  the “International Unity Games” are still on-going today, July 27.

The Church does not condemn corruption or any wrongdoings, BUT it remains a MUST that everything has to be in due process – and we as ONE BODY, will not be divided in “parts” having its own brain, our brain is in the head, Christ, not in the hand, legs, torso, back or anywhere else.

The Church’s policy, as far as I know, is that being a completely  “new being/man

Ephesians 2:15King James Version (KJV)

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

in the eyes of our Lord God (Jesus Christ as the head and the church is the body as stated in Colossians 1:18), the Church is centralized.  The BODY must be ONE in mind and in judgment with its HEAD Jesus Christ. That is why regardless of who are involved, those who had made a move of separating the body to factions have been given due PUNISHMENT, removing connection with the Church. We do not have to be a rebel, that pains God. God hates separation among His followers.  Any problem must be brought to the knowledge of its HEAD, Jesus Christ, which is represented in these last days by the Church Administration   and it is always a reminder that along with the Report must be the pertinent evidences to verify any  allegation.

K-12 Ready or Not?

What is K-12?

It is the educational system employed by most countries around the world (universal system) wherein compared to the system we had before there will be TWO more additional levels in high school starting from kindergarten to grade 12, before pursuing a course in college.  The supposedly  first-year high school shall now be called grade 7 and second year  as it was called in the previous system we implemented would be grade 8 till the fourth year high school now be known as grade 10 so on and so forth.

In K-12, there will be additional lessons which are mostly focused on skills and ability (some say TESDA courses’ basic) to prepare the upcoming college freshmen to whatever career may be pursued. K-12 helps students become more competitive and not be left-out being compared to graduates of the said system from other countries.

Cooking Tip: Peeling Garlic

Hi  moms and sis-friends! How are you today? I have something to share with you, it is about peeling garlic the easier way. Maybe you are tired of doing it one by one because it is taking you that long and it is really complicated. Cut the time and do it the faster way. If you need your garlic in whole cloves, this method is not applicable.

Tips to Win the Job Interview

Here are a good list of reminders for job seekers who wanted to pass the job interview with flying colors.

Over-all Appearance Tips:
Dress Properly. Must be in formal attire.  Attire does not just concern  clothes but the over-all appearance. What formal attire should be:

Women:
Knee-long pencil-cut skirt or slacks and blouse/business suit/tube or spaghetti-strapped blouse WITH a blazer.

Do not wear plunging neckline blouses, nor too loose and a mini skirt. Dressing indecent like those would just give you a bad impression – you might be a distraction to your co-workers or might be a cause of trouble in the workplace. When you do not have anything but a mini-skirt, I suggest you wear a pair of stockings or pantyhose.

Never wear overpowering make-up. Do not put on dark red or black lipstick and a very noticeable blush-on. Just choose the good-to-nothing shades – looking natural but not “bare”.

Do not wear slippers or sandals  or open-shoes. I would suggest full shoes (leather or synthetic sort) rather than sandals or wedges; better they would be your last options.

(Slacks are best in black, navy blue or light brown never wear shocking colors like red, sky blue, yellow or orange slacks – it just looks funky or not serious).

Men:
Polo/Slacks/Coat and Tie (rugged “maong” pants is a NO, NO even it does not have holes or ripped designs) the cloth’s texture does not show formality.

Undershirts inside your sheer colored “barong” or polo is still works too.

For Both Genders:

Perfumes
If you would smell like a perfume store, better not spray that scent on you. Just choose mild scent. If not all but most people, get irritated smelling such heavy perfumes and may want to cut your job interview short especially interviews are frequently done in a secluded place (inside a particular room in an office that is not too big at all and air-conditioned lucky if the interview is done in a “panel” that means wider venue) the smell would not be that obvious at all.

If it is a sunny day just dab on a “cologne”, I remember Avon cosmetics teaches that perfumes should be worn only at not so humid and hot days and they recommend colognes as substitute for that kind of weather.

The best parts of the body to put on that fragrance are the elbows and back of the ears, I think because we do not sweat that much or may be really not on that areas-avoiding mixing the perfume with the sweat creating NEW undesirable smell or even odor!

T-shirt is a NO, NO.
Avoid blouse or polo with “word” whatever quote or good words may those be, rude, obscene prints – they all spoil the formality of your attire.

Rubber Shoes and slippers are inappropriate, if you do not feel comfortable wearing leather top-sider shoes just bring something to “change-on” afterwards.

Taking a bath need no mentioning because everybody preferred it  but I opt to remind you because it will give you added comfort and layering perfume can not cover body odor or plain sweat.

Be sure that your clothes are clean and well-pressed. Bring a “clean” handkerchief.

Clean Hands and Fingernails/Hair Fixed

Check on your fingernails if they are trimmed and clean. Manicure is not too important but okay for girls (opt for natural-looking shades like platinum, nude or beige).

If you are a man and your hair is long enough to clip-on, better head to the barber’s shop before going to your interview. For women, be sure that your hair is in place if is not re-bonded (because this seldom needs a lot of fixing)-make sure it does not cover your face especially your eyes and it does not look messy nor have not been washed for a week! Better visit the ladies’room as soon as you arrived in the office for the last look before you show-up (travelling especially while commuting brings chaos to your well-done hair).

Look at the mirror before you step-out of your residence. Smile (check on your teeth-make sure no food strips in between). Check your over-all appearance, if it passes on your own HONEST  judgment it might as well qualify  to your  interviewer’s assessment.

In my opinion, your over-all appearance constitute around 40% of your chances to get hired, remember PLEASING PERSONALITY (not just the physical looks, your smell, attitude –the way you interact makes your personality). If you are the boss, would you give a chance to somebody who never smiles but frowns all the time with matching creasing forehead? I doubt you will, unless you wanted to be in the company of a stressful co-worker. And if one can not fix himself neatly, what more he can do to handle the job proficiently.

Interview Hints (sample questions). Here are few samples of questions in an interview.

a. Say something about yourself.

Lady's Bag MUST Haves

Going out with your best-buddy, your bag? Here are some tips to get your day going worry-free!)Not listed in the order of importance)

1.  Wet Tissue

Used for smudged make-up, refresher – coming from a travel in a polluted area or being sticky because of sweat due to humid weather.

It is very useful in situations that you felt the need to do a "call of nature" too, wherever you are and whenever it is you will no longer hold it back because you do not have soap and it is really a seconds-emergency, no way you can find a store to buy.

2. Alcohol and cologne in an atomizer bottle

Recipe: Successful Love Relationship

What is the secret behind successful relationships? Is it physical beauty? I do not think it is, because I saw and met a lot of beautiful faces men and women so to speak but still end-up with a ruined relationship not just in early stages of “boyfriend-girlfriend thing" but also in marriage.  Is it stability? I knew successful wealthy partners up to this date and also middle-class couples that still survived their relationship for years too, that could not be the factor for some.  But we can not deny that it could be one of the reasons. Have a look at these surefire ways:

1. Perseverance and calmness

Abstain from talking back while the other is angry. This huge effort on the part of either the man or woman pays off. Avoiding discussion while the other is “fiery” , keeping the mouth shut for seconds or minutes goes a long way. Yes, it pays…try explaining when the other is relaxed if you wanted to answer the things hurled against you. Why? While the one is angry, believe me he sees no reason, she hears nothing but her voice. Frequently, the person who is angry is not in the right frame of mind, not only liquor and drugs can be overpowering but anger too.

Whatever your partner said, he did not mean it. The words are just brought about by spur-of the-moment situation. Do not harbor it against him. Let it just enter your left ear and throw it out on the right. I admit this is my weakness but I am trying to overcome it.

Let Criticisms Change YOU for the Better

Nobody loves the word CRITICISM, even me… but it exists in the dictionary… and in the real world! That means we cannot avoid it, all we can do is to face it and not be crushed by it

Literally criticisms are mere words, but as they say - words are more remembered than physical wounds inflicted on us. They kept ringing on our mind for days, weeks and even for years unlike wounds that just leave an ugly scar that we learned to forget that is there. To that, we can turn these criticisms as motivators to help us grow better.  We have to keep in mind that people who criticize are mostly the authorities, people who have higher ranks and the jack of his trade, the boss who pays us sometimeswe better refrain from criticizing if we are not those mentioned above because we may end-up a laughing stock not having every ‘right’ to do that. Those rightful critics can help us change to become somebody. Appreciate it when your ‘writing’ is being criticized that means you get their attention, they gave time to read what you scribbled-on and best of all, these criticisms are camouflaged suggestions that you can take positively for your work to develop and later on bring  success on your part . If others criticize you for your work, strive to improve it the next time you will be given another chance.

Talking to Your Child Makes a BIG Difference
Give her some briefing on what children do in school. Like saying something LIKE this…
-“You will just read, write and draw and even color, isn’t that exciting?!”

-Tell her the fun of learning. Remind her why children have to go to school. That she must not be afraid she does not know yet what they will be studying, tell her she is not the only one but all of her classmates.  And that is the reason why they have a TEACHER –to teach them.

-That it is enjoyable to meet some new friends , her  classmates. Remind  though that only during “break time or recess”, she can chat or play with them.

Tell your child of the:

Do’s and Don’ts’ while in School
-There is a time to snack on and to chat or play with classmates that the school and the teacher would allow.
Children can not chew bubble gum or eat their snacks while not yet break time.

-Wait for the teacher’s instructions on what to do.
Teacher will say what she will need you to do, wait for her instruction when to get  crayons, pad paper, notebook or pencil.

-Be sure to familiarize her with the school supplies she got so she will not get confused.

-Children must listen while the teacher speaks.

The Truth about BBL Surveys

Why is it that surveys on Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) have resulted to greater percentage of disapproval?

I am not against any Survey Company especially the ones who are recognized for their honest exposĆ© of opinion turnouts.  But all I have in mind is that, do you think these surveys represent the real opinion of our fellow-countrymen as a whole? Are those surveys conducted with those who really are familiar or have even a little knowledge of the issue? If YES, how sure are we really getting FAIR/UNBIASED answers?  There is no argument that they survey REAL people, BUT can we have the accurate proportion of the public who really are in-the-know of what BBL or other topics of great concern are all about?

If I will be asked of my opinion about something I really do not know about, I would rather abstain from giving my reply at the moment.  Being a responsible individual to myself and to others who want to get dignified answers in an issue – if they would insist I should share mine, I need to study and do some research beforehand (through the help of the real agencies, authorities who are knowledgeable of the subject matter I have to react on or even documents coming from trusted sources as my reference) observe around and watch discussions participated-in by individuals who are invited to speak as representatives of both sides of an issue. I can proudly say that I am not just basing my opinions from others’; I have mine with full integrity.

Accessorize and Feel Glamorous

Women can bring fashion sense to the next level by learning to accessorize. Accessories need not be that expensive, the design counts a lot, what it adds is not just the literal "ring", "bracelet", "necklace" or "brooch" - but an over-all impact of glamour, an elegance.

Here are some tips to consider in choosing accessories:

1. Pick unique ones, one-of-a-kind or not just seen or sold just anywhere.

This necklace is just a gift from my friend Roanna Cruz. I love this necklace so much not just because it has a sentimental value coming from a dear friend - this is very elegant. Made from a sea shell-Capiz (Windowpane Oyster), I seldom see accessories made from one that is making it special too.

Capiz shell necklace

Your pick can be made  from any other different material like a necklace made from a genuine leather strap with a gem pendant or just a plain yarn string etc.
